How to prepare for the XAT Essay writing sections

The most common questions asked of counsellors from aspirant students that are looking at sitting the XAT, or what is commonly referred to as the Xavier Admission Test, are the following. Students often ask how they should prepare for the essay writing section, what potential topics may be asked for the essay topic, and more practically, how they should actually complete the essay section. The XAT exams have for many years included a section for essay writing. When prepping for the XAT entrance exams, which are usually held in January of each year, make sure that you do no waste time during the exam. The exam is usually 2 hours in length, and within this time, students are required to complete the complete XAT paper. The exam paper is divided into two distinct sections, with the second sections consisiting solely of essay writing. The essay writing consists of 20 minutes wherein the student is required to complete the essay. There is no word limit for the essay, but it is common practice for a student to write at least 400-450 words, or potentially even more. Any good essay that is well structured and has some logical flow, free of grammar and spelling mistakes, and can justify the topic or argument, should be sufficient.
